About Us

Multi-campus Model

In 2008-2009, Mount Royal and Virginia Park Schools took the first step together on a shared journey as a multi-campus arts program. Both campuses ensure that we can accommodate students interested in participating in an Arts core program. Every effort is made to offer similar programming to students on each campus. This reality helps to shape not only a shared theme for both schools, but also shared staff, shared leadership, shared professional learning, shared pedagogy and shared philosophy.

Courage to Dream

"To live into the future means to leap into the unknown, and this requires a degree of courage for which there is no immediate precedent and which few people realize."
— Rollo May

The arts transform lives. They invite people to build bridges to span the joys and challenges of being alive. The arts merge our past with our dreams for the future. Nowhere is this more evident than in the arts created by children. Although children may stand in the midst of history, with a limited sense of past or future, their art speaks of deep connections, resonating across all ages and cultures.

Beyond the Classroom

Arts Enrichment

At Mount Royal•Virginia Park Arts Core Schools, we continually seek opportunities to enrich and enhance student learning. We coordinate various presentations, events and performances, and invite guest artists to share their insights and talents with our students and staff. Through ensemble work and individual effort, our students develop their skills, refine their talents and realize their full potential. We encourage students to express themselves through the arts, and we provide ways to allow them to experience success. Violin classes through Edmonton Public Schools Music Enrichment Program are available at our Virginia Park Campus.
