Involved Parents
| Research confirms that the more parents are involved the more likely the child succeed at school. |
 | A supportive group of parents work with the school to enhance their children's learning. Parent volunteers assist in the classrooms, library, during special events and co-curricular activities. Our school council is active in a variety of ways providing support and insight to staff as well as promoting advocacy for public education.
Volunteer Program Parent or community volunteers are not only welcome but also encouraged. Volunteers contribute to the success of their own children and students in the school. Volunteers may be involved in any number of activities depending on their interests, expertise and the needs of the school or classroom. Examples of volunteer activities include assisting in the classroom during art experiences; helping with sporting events, preparing teacher materials, assisting on field trips or on an events committee and listening to children read.
School Council Meetings The school council and parent advisory council meet on the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the collaboration centre. All parents are encouraged to attend. Childcare is available to assist parents who would otherwise be unable to attend. We look forward to having new and past members join us each month. Your input is valued and important when making decisions. Please check the school calender for meeting dates.
